Welcome to Itemify! This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the "App") and related services (the "Services"). Please read this policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the App.

We reserve the right to make changes to this Privacy Policy at any time and for any reason. We will alert you about any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date of this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect information about you in a variety of ways. The information we may collect via the App depends on the content and materials you use, and includes:

User-Provided Data (Your Inventory Data)

All inventory data you enter into the App, such as item names, descriptions, quantities, values, categories, locations, photos, and any custom fields you create ("User Content"), is stored locally on your device. If you choose to use cloud backup or synchronization features with third-party services like iCloud or Google Drive, your User Content will also be stored in your personal account with those services, governed by their respective privacy policies.

Usage Data

We may collect information automatically when you access the App, such as your mobile device's operating system, device type, IP address (which may be used to infer general location), app version, and dates and times of your access. This data is primarily used for analytics to improve app performance and user experience.

Data from Third-Party Services

If you connect Itemify to a third-party service (e.g., iCloud, Google Drive for backups, WebDataRocks for reporting), we may receive information from that service as necessary to provide the requested functionality. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the privacy practices of these third parties.

2. How We Use Your Information

Having accurate information about you permits us to provide you with a smooth, efficient, and customized experience. Specifically, we may use information collected about you via the App to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain our App and Services.
• Enable you to manage and organize your inventory data.
• Facilitate cloud backup and synchronization if you opt-in to such features.
• Improve, personalize, and expand our Services.
• Understand and analyze how you use our Services for development and improvement.
• Communicate with you, either directly or through one of our partners, including for customer service, to provide you with updates and other information relating to the App, and for marketing and promotional purposes (if you opt-in).
• Ensure the security and integrity of our Services.
• Comply with legal obligations.

3. Disclosure of Your Information

We do not sell your personal User Content. We may share information we have collected about you in certain situations. Your information may be disclosed as follows:

• By Law or to Protect Rights: If we believe the release of information about you is necessary to respond to legal process, to investigate or remedy potential violations of our policies, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of others, we may share your information as permitted or required by any applicable law, rule, or regulation.
• Third-Party Service Providers: We may share your information with third-party vendors, service providers, contractors, or agents who perform services for us or on our behalf and require access to such information to do that work (e.g., cloud storage providers if you use backup features, analytics providers). These third parties are obligated to protect your data.
• Business Transfers: We may share or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company.
• With Your Consent: We may disclose your information for any other purpose with your consent.

While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse.

Your inventory data is primarily stored locally on your device. If you use cloud services like iCloud or Google Drive for backup, the security of that data is also subject to the security measures of those providers.

5. Data Retention

We will retain your information only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, or as needed to provide you the Services. We will retain and use your information to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

6. Your Data Protection Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

• The right to access – You have the right to request copies of your personal data.
• The right to rectification – You have the right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate or complete information you believe is incomplete.
• The right to erasure – You have the right to request that we erase your personal data, under certain conditions. (Note: As most data is local, deleting the app or your data within the app will achieve this for local data).
• The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
• The right to object to processing – You have the right to object to our processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
• The right to data portability – You have the right to request that we transfer the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions.

7. Children's Privacy

Our Services are not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child under 13 has entered personally identifiable information into the App (which is stored locally on their device) without your consent, please contact us immediately at itemifyapp@gmail.com so we can guide you on how to remove this data from the device. If we otherwise become aware that personally identifiable information from a child under 13 has been inadvertently collected by or stored on our systems (distinct from data stored locally within the App on a user's device), we will take prompt steps to delete such information from our systems. Deletion of locally stored data remains the user's or guardian's responsibility (see Section 6). If you are between the ages of 13 and 18, you may only use the Services with the permission and under the supervision of your parent or legal guardian, who agrees to be bound by our Terms of Use on your behalf.

8. Third-Party Websites and Services

The App may contain links to third-party websites and applications of interest, including advertisements and external services, that are not affiliated with us. Once you have used these links to leave the App, any information you provide to these third parties is not covered by this Privacy Policy, and we cannot guarantee the safety and privacy of your information. Before visiting and providing any information to any third-party websites, you should inform yourself of the privacy policies and practices (if any) of the third party responsible for that website, and should take those steps necessary to, in your discretion, protect the privacy of your information. We are not responsible for the content or privacy and security practices and policies of any third parties, including other sites, services or applications that may be linked to or from the App (such as iCloud, Google Drive, WebDataRocks).
